Ponung Doming- Arunachal Pradesh first Woman to become Lieutenant Colonel

Ponung Doming becomes first Women Officer from Arunachal Pradesh to be promoted on the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army.
In 2008, She has joined the Indian Army on the rank of Lieutenant.
In August 2019, Wing Commander Shaliza Dhami became first Woman officer from Punjab to be promoted on the rank of Flight Commander in the flying unit of Indian Air Force (IAF).
