PM Narendra Modi Awarded With Global Goalkeeper Award


  • Today, The 14th Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi (age 69 years) awarded Global Goalkeeper Award by the Bill-Melinda Gates foundation, for his contribution towards cleanliness and spreading awareness on the issue.
  • It all began in 2014 when PM Narendra Modi launched Swachh Bharat mission as a nation-wide campaign promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation.
  • The movement launched by the PM Modi has successfully achieved its goals, fulfilling the dream of Bapu.

    About the Goalkeeper Award
    i) The award will be given by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, owned by Bill Gates (Founder of Microsoft Corporation) and his wife Melinda Gates.
    ii) The annual awards are given in 5-categories- Progress, Changemaker, Campaign, Goalkeepers Voice, and Global Goalkeeper. The award is presented to leaders and individuals for their efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
