Argentine footballer Lionel Messi wins FIFA Player of the Year

32-years-old Argentine footballer Lionel Messi won the 2019 FIFA Men's Player of the Year Award. Messi defeated Virgil van Dijk & Cristiano Ronaldo to win the FIFA's Best Player of the year award.
This is the 6th time that Lionel Messi has won this award. Prior to this, he won the award in the year 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015.

Megan Rapinoe (age 34 years) won the Best FIFA Football Women's Player Award 2019. She defeated Alex Morgan & Lucy Bronze to win this title.
