- Union Government appointed Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria as the next Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force.
- Prior to taking up this assignment, Rakesh Bhadauria served as Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force from 1st May 2019 after superannuation of Air Marshal Anil Khosla.
- RKS Bhadauria replaced Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa (age 62 years), who is retiring on 30th September 2019.
- During 36 years of his career, RKS Bhadauria is honored with several medals:-
i) In January 2013, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM)
ii) In Jan 2002, Vayu Sena Medal (VSM),
iii) In Jan 2018, Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM).
- In spite of that, In Jan 2019, he was appointed honorary Aide De Campe to the 14th President of India (Ram Nath Kovind).
