IAF successfully test-fired Astra- Air-to-Air missile

Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully test-fired Astra- Air-to-Air missile from the coast of Odisha. The missile was launched from a Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft.
Astra missile has been developed & designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India.
According to the Defence Ministry, the missile was tracked using radars, electro-optical tracking sensors and hit its target successfully.
The DRDO-Astra is capable of engaging targets of different ranges and altitudes including long-range as well as short-range targets.
