- Former Congress MP Sukhdev Singh Libra, who represented the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency of Punjab died after a prolonged illness at the age of 87-years.
- S. S. Libra was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha from Fatehgarh Sahib and 15th Lok Sabha from Ropar. He was also member Rajya sabha 1998-2004.
