Renowned playwright Kiran Nagarkar dies


  • Famous Indian novelist, playwright Kiran Nagarkar died in Mumbai due to brain hemorrhage. He was 77-years.
  • He was a screenwriter both in Marathi and English. In 1974, he had written Saat Sakkam Trechalis (tr. Seven Sixes Are Forty-Three), and Ravan and Eddie (1994).
  • In 2001, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his epic novel, Cuckold (1997).
