- 5th September celebrated as Teacher's Day across the country on the birth anniversary (5th September 1888) of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
- Dr. Radhakrishnan was an Indian philosopher, educationist, and Bharat Ratna awardee. He served as the first Vice
- President from 1952 to 1962, and the second President of India from 1962 to 1967.
On the occassion, President R. N. Kovind has given the National Teachers’ Awards to 46 teachers in New Delhi.
