Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observed on 31st October

Each year on 31st October 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' or 'National Unity Day' to commemorate the 144th Birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The day was introduced by the Government of India in 2014. Sardar Patel served as the First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.
In 2018, PM Modi inaugurated the 'Statue of Unity' in honor of Sardar Patel in the Kevadia, Gujarat. It is the World's tallest statue with a height of 182 meters.
