S. A. Bobde appointed as 47th Chief Justice of India

Justice Sharad Arvind Bodbe (age 63 years) has been appointed as the next 47th Chief Justice of India (CJI) up to 23rd April 2021. He will take oath on 18th November 2019.
He replaced Justice Ranjan Gogoi (46th Chief Justice of India).
S. A. Bobde is born in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He was a former Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. In spite of that, He served as the Chancellor of Delhi University and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.
