- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Colonel Chewang Rinchen Setu on Shyok River in Ladakh near Line of Actual Control with China.
- The bridge has been constructed at an altitude of 14,650 feet in West of Eastern Ladakh and it will be built by Border Roads Organization (BRO) under Project Himank.
- The bridge named in honor of Colonel Chewang Rinchen who was one of the highly decorated officers in the Indian Army from the Ladakh region of India.
