- Noted journalist Kanwar Sain Jolly died following a prolonged illness. He was 86 years.
- Mr. Jolly retired as Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency in 1993.
- During his tenure, Jolly was honored with several awards and served with various organizations such as KPMG, Pepsi and DuPont.
