Every year, Gandhi Jayanti celebrated on 2nd October

Every year on 2nd October Gandhi Jayanti (150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi) celebrated across the nation.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 into an Indian Gujarati Hindu Modh Baniya family in Porbandar, Gujarat. This day is also celebrated as World Non-Violence Day.
In 1996, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had issued Gandhi series banknotes by displaying a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi which including Rs.10, and Rs.500 notes.
