- Mr. Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia (IIS officer: 1984 batch cadre) has been appointed as the 28th Principal spokesperson of the PM Narendra Modi government.
- Mr. Dhatwalia replaced Sitanshu Kar, who was the principal spokesperson of the Union government.
- Prior to this, K. S. Dhatwalia was serving as the Director-General Training and Research in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- Mr. Dhatwalia has been posted as the new Principal Director-General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the publicity wing.
