Renowned poet Akkitham awarded Jnanpith Award for 2019

Renowned Malayalam poet Akkitham Achuthan Namboodiri (age 93 years) awarded with the 55th Jnanpith Award.

The Jnanpith Award is an Indian literary award presented every year by the Bharatiya Jnanpith to an author for their outstanding contribution towards literature.
In 2018, the Indian writer Amitav Ghosh had won the 54th Jnanpith Award.
