Former Japanese PM Yasuhiro Nakasone dies at 101


  • Yasuhiro Nakasone, one of the longest-reigning Prime Ministers of Japan died in Tokyo at the age of 101 years. He was the oldest living former Japanese prime minister.
  • He is known for his friendship with Ronald Reagan (40th President of the US).
  • Nakasone, Prime Minister from 1982 to 1987, shared the world stage with Reagan and Margaret Thatcher while battling with bureaucrats over domestic reforms.
