- Every year on 16th November International Day for Tolerance is observed around the globe.
- In 1996, the United Nations General Assembly (by resolution 51/95) invited the UN Member States to observe the International Day for Tolerance on 16th November.
- The main objective of this day is observed to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems and to celebrate and reinforce the achievements of humanity.
