- The people of Uttarakhand state celebrated its 18th formation day with full of joy and gaiety (after separation from Uttar Pradesh).
- On 9th November 2000, Uttarakhand became the 27th state of India. The state is divided into two divisions, Garhwal and Kumaon, with a total of 13 districts.
