- The three-day Sanskrit Bharati Vishwa Sammelan begins in New Delhi. Around 1000's of Sanskrit lovers from 17th countries are participating in the Sammelan.
- V. Muraleedharan (External Affairs Minister) said Sanskrit continues to be prevalent in society as it is used by the people across the country.
- He also said Sanskrit words are found in most of the Indian languages.
