Goa-Statehood Day being Observed today


  • Goa is celebrating its statehood day on 30th May every year.
  • On this day in 1987, Goa became the 25th state. Before this, Goa along with Daman and Diu was a union territory. Statehood helped Goa to provide a distinct identity.

    About Goa:- Goa is a state on the southwestern coast of India within the region known as the Konkan, separated from the Deccan highlands of Karnataka by the Western Ghats. It is bounded by Maharashtra to the north and Karnataka to the east and south, with the Arabian Sea forming its western coast.
