- National Dengue Day is observed on May 16 every year to create awareness about dengue: and to intensify preventive measures and preparedness for the control of disease in the country before transmission season starts.
- Dengue is caused by the bite of Aedes mosquito which is infected by one or more of the dengue viruses. This mosquito usually bites in daylight.
