Vice Admiral Karambir Singh appointed as next Chief of Naval Staff

Current Affairs 23rd March 2019. Vice Admiral Karambir Singh (age 59 years) has been appointed as the next Chief of Naval Staff. He will succeed Admiral Sunil Lanba who retires on 31st May 2019.
Mr. Singh belongs to Jalandhar, Punjab. He is a Helicopter Pilot and has flown Chetaks and Kamovs.
At present, He is serving as the Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam.
