- Current Affairs 7th March 2018. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has launched the new series of visually impaired friendly circulation coins 2019 in New Delhi.
- The new series includes coins of Rs.1, Rs.2, Rs.5, Rs.10, and Rs.20 denominations.
- The Prime Minister said that his government is committed to empowering the divyangjans by boosting their confidence and morale.
- The coins are characterized by the increasing size and weight from lower to higher denominations. National Institute of Design has designed the new coins which have been produced by Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited and the Finance Ministry.
