- Current Affairs 5th March 2019: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today launched the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (PM-SYM) Yojana at Vastral in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
- The national pension scheme for workers and laborers of the unorganized sector was announced in the interim budget in February this year.
- It will provide a monthly pension of 3000 rupees to the employees of the unorganized sector after 60 years of age.
- He said, 42 crore workers from un-organized sectors (18 to 40 years) are eligible for this pension scheme by contributing 55 rupees to 200 rupees monthly.
