- 103 years old Freedom fighter Mohammed Baji died at his residence Sunari Sahi, Nabarangpur District, Odisha.
- He was a close associate of tribal civil rights activist Laxman Nayak.
- In 1936, he had joined the Indian National Congress (INC), the year Odisha became a separate province on the basis of language.
- On 19th August 1942, he also joined the Quit India Movement. He spent 5-years in jail before he was released on 25th June 1947.
- Baji was the Chairman of Utkal Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and a close associate of Utkal Sarvodaya Mandal.
