Jharna Dhara Chowdhury passes away at 81

Eminent Social Activist and Secretary of the Gandhi Ashram Trust Jharna Dhara Chowdhury passed away in Dhaka.
She was born on 15/10/1938 at Lakshmipur, Jharna devoted her whole life to promoting peace, communal harmony and social justice.
She was deeply influenced by the Gandhian principles of non-violence and communal harmony.

Awards
- In 2013, She was honored with Padma Shri.
- In 1998 She was honored with Jamnalal Bajaj Award.
- Out of this, She also received many other prestigious awards like Begum Rokeya Padak, Gandhi Seva Puraskar, and Ekushey Padak.
