- The World Refugee Day is observed annually on the 20th of June to raise awareness about the conditions and problems that refugee faces in their lives.
- The theme for this year is 'Step With Refugees - Take A Step on World Refugee Day'.
- This day was declared by the UNGA in the Resolution 55/76 on 4th December 2000. The 2001 celebration of World Refugee Day was marked as the 50th anniversary of 1951 Convention Refugees status by the United Nations General Assembly.
- This year theme focuses on that there is a need to take big and small steps in solidarity with refugees from around the world.
