Om Birla become new Speaker of 17th Lok Sabha

Two-time BJP MP from the Kota-Bundi constituency of Rajasthan state, Om Birla becomes the new Speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha. PM Modi proposed his name for the speaker post.
The appointment proposal has been supported by all NDA allies, including AIADMK, as well as parties like YSR Congress Party and Biju Janata Dal.
56-years-old Birla will succeed Sumitra Mahajan as Lok Sabha Speaker.
