- The Ranking of India has slipped five places to 141st on the Global Peace Index for the year 2019. While Iceland remains the top since 2008.
- Global Peace Index (GPI) measures the relative position of nations' and regions' peacefulness. The GPI ranks 163 independent states and territories according to their levels of peacefulness.
- According to the 2019 GPI report Iceland, New Zealand, Portugal, Austria, and Denmark to be the most peaceful and Afghanistan, Syria, South Sudan, Yemen, and Iraq to be the least peaceful countries.
