- The Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council has introduced a new GST return system to facilitate taxpayers.
- A plan has been worked out to ease the transition to the new GST return system. The new GST tool would be the same as that of the online portal.
- In the new GST return system, there are 3 main components- 1 main return (FORM GST RET-1) and 2-Annexures (FORM GST ANX-1 and FORM GST ANX-2).
- In July and September 2019, the new GST return system will be available for taxpayers (trial version) to make themselves familiar.
