UP Government hikes Old-Age Pension to Rs 500 Per Month

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has hiked old-age pension in the age group 60-79 years by Rs 100. Now the pensioners would receive Rs 500 per month from the existing Rs 400.
This was approved in a Cabinet meeting headed by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath at Lucknow.
In Jan 2019, the hike would be enforced and the Uttar Pradesh government will have to bear an additional burden of Rs 106.84 crore from Jan to March 2019.
The newly hiked pension will benefit around 44,21,000 people in the Uttar Pradesh state.
