- World Milk Day is being observed on 1st June every year to educate people about the importance of milk in our diet (science 2001).
- The theme for this year is "Drink Milk: Today & Everyday".
- In 2001, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) selected 1st of June as World Milk Day, to recognize the important contributions of the dairy sector.
- The World Milk Day provides an opportunity to focus attention on milk and to publicize activities connected with milk and the milk industry.
