- The 14th Chief Minister of Odisha state Shri Naveen Patnaik (age 72 years) has announced in the state Assembly that Odisha Secretariat building renamed as Lok Seva Bhawan. During his budget speech, Mr. Patnaik made this announcement.
- The Odisha Sachivalaya or Secretariat building was unveiled by Govind Ballabh Pant on 12th November 1959 in Bhubaneswar.
