29th July: International Tiger Day


  • The International Tiger Day is observed on 29th July every year around the world to create awareness about tiger conservation and protection of the natural habitat of tigers.
  • On this day, PM Modi has released the results of the 4th cycle of the All India Tiger Estimation (AITE) in New Delhi. He said that India is one of the safest habitats in the world with almost 3000 tigers.
  • According to the survey, the Number of Tigers in India has risen to 2,967. In Madhya Pradesh, there are 526, and In Karnataka, there are 524, and In Uttarakhand, there are 442 tigers. These are the top 3 Indian states which have a maximum number of tigers.
