MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury elected as Chairman of PAC

The Congress MP for Berhampore Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (age 63 years) elected as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The period of office members of the PAC Committee not more than one year at a time.
The purpose of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) auditing the revenue and the expenditure of the Government of India. It consists of not more than 22-members, 15-members from Lok Sabha and 7 from Rajya Sabha.
