- Mark is a 4-star General, and the 39th and current Chief of Staff of the US Army.
- He will replace the US Marine Corps, General Joseph Dunford (age 63 years).
- The CJCS is the highest-ranking and senior-most military officer in the US Armed Forces and is the principal military advisor to the President, the National Security Council, the Homeland Security Council, and the Secretary of Defence.
