- The President of Tunisia Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi passed away in a military hospital. He was 92 years. He served as the President of Tunisia from 31st December 2014 until his death.
- In 1981-86, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Prime Minister from Feb-2011 to Dec-2011.
