IAF Conducts Airstrikes at Jaish-e-Mohammed Camp in Balakot, POK
The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted airstrikes at the biggest terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
Foreign Secretary of India Mr. Vijay Gokhale said credible information was received that JeM was attempting other suicide terror attacks in the country and terrorists were being trained for that purpose. Saying that it became inevitable to carry out a pre-emptive strike.
Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorist Camp has been active in Pakistan for the last 2 decades and is led by Masood Azhar with its headquarters in Bahawalpur.
JeM has been responsible for a series of terrorist attacks including on the Indian Parliament on 13 December 2001 and the Pathankot Attack on 02 January 2016.
