PM Modi Launches PM-KISAN scheme in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 'PM-KISAN' at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh state.
PM Modi will mark the launch of the PM-KISAN scheme, through a press of the button, electronically transfer the first installment of Rs.2,000/- to selected farmers.
The amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of beneficiaries through Direct Benefits Transfer. The amount will be given in 3 instalments of Rs.2,000/- each, which will benefit more than 12 crore farmers of the country.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was announced in the interim Budget 2019-20. Under the Scheme, Rs 6,000 will be given per year to small and marginal farmer families having a combined land holding of up to 2 hectares.
