M. Marrero Cruz became the first Prime Minister of Cuba


  • President Miguel Diaz-Canel has appointed Manuel Marrero Cruz (age 56 years) as the first Prime Minister of Cuba in more than 40 years.
  • Prior to this, Marrero has served as the Tourism Minister of Cuba for the last 16 years.
  • The post of Cuba Prime Minister was abolished in 1976 when Fidel Castro had become Cuban President.
