  • Writer Amitabha Bagchi won the 2019 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature for his 2018 novel 'Half the Night is Gone'.
  • The winner name was announced at the 8th edition of the IME Nepal Literature Festival held at Pokhara.
  • In this festival 5 other books were shortlisted;
    i) Madhuri Vijay book 'The Far Field'
    ii) Raj Kamal Jha book 'The City and the Sea'
    iii) Manoranjan Byapari book 'There’s Gunpowder in the Air'
    iv) Sadia Abbas book 'The Empty Room'
    v) Jamil Jan Kochi book '99 Nights in Logar'
