Masatsugu Asakawa elected as new President of Asian Development Bank


  • The appointment committee of the Asian Development Bank has unanimously elected the Masatsugu Asakawa as its new President.
  • Asakawa is currently a special advisor to Shinzo Abe (Japanese Prime Minister) and to Taro Aso (Finance Minister of Japan).
  • He replaced Takehiko Nakao, who was the 9th President of ADB.
  • Masatsugu Asakawa will assume the office as 10th President of ADB in next year on 17th January 2020.
