Soma Roy Burman appointed as new CAG

Smt. Soma Roy Burman, a 1986-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) Officer, appointed as the new Controller General of Accounts (CAG).
She replaced J. P. S. Chawla. Now, she is the 24th Controller General of Accounts (CGA) and is the 7th woman to hold this position.
Prior to taking up this assignment, Smt. Burman served as Additional Controller General of Accounts in the office of the CGA handling the critical areas of Accounting Rules, Policy & Reforms, etc.
