PM Modi government extends P. C. Mody tenure by 1-year

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by Shri Narendra Modi (14th Prime Minister of India) extended the CBDT-Chairman Pramod Chandra Mody the tenure for 1-year.
P. C. Mody is an IRS (IT) Officer (1982: batch), who was to retire on 31st August 2019.
The Chairperson of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is the ex-officio Special Secretary to the Government of India and also cadre controlling authority of the Indian Revenue Service.
