Indian Institute of Petroleum Set-up a Plant to turn Plastic Waste into Diesel in Dehradun


  • Union Minister for Science and Technology in the BJP-led NDA government- Dr. Harsh Vardhan (age 64 years) and Uttarakhand Chief Minister- Trivendra Singh Rawat (age 58 years) has unveiled a waste plastics to diesel plant in Dehradun.
  • The above plant has been set up by the Indian Institute of Petroleum, with the capacity to produce 800-liter diesel from 1-ton of waste plastic.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vardhan said that, it has been set up at a time various country are working towards a plastic-free world.
