P. V. Sindhu beat Okuhara to win Women's singles title


  • Indian badminton star P.V. Sindhu defeated Japanese opponent Nozomi Okuhara (age 24 years) 21-7, 21-7 to win the Women's singles title at the BWF World Championships.
  • The 2019 BWF World Championships was held at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland from 19th to 25th August 2019.

    i) In Men's singles:- Kento Momota from Japan
    ii) In Women's singles:- P. V. Sindhu (India)
    iii) In Men's doubles: Mohammad Ahsan (Indonesia) and Hendra Setiawan (Indonesia)
    iv) In Women's doubles:- Mayu Matsumoto (Japan) and Wakana Nagahara (Japan).
