Meeta Narain (Professor) Won 2019 Pushkin Medal


  • JNU Professor- Meeta Narain awarded with Pushkin Medal for her contribution to Russian studies abroad.
  • The Medal of Pushkin is a state decoration of the Russian Federation awarded to its citizens for achievements in the arts and culture, education, humanities, and literature.
  • It is named after the famous Russian author and poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.

    About Meeta Narain
    i) Centre/ School/ Special Centre:- Centre of Russian Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies
    ii) Qualifications:- Ph.D. from Centre of Russian Studies, JNU in 1986 in the field of language and translation.
    iii) Specialization:- Language teaching, translation and culture studies
    iv) Experience:- As permanent w.e.f 1999. As Professor w.e.f. 24th March 2011
    v) Awards & Honours:- Education Award for Excellence in 2016, Dr. Radhakrishnan Millennium National Teacher Award in 2010.
