- 63-years-old Abdalla Hamdok takes charge as 15th Prime Minister of Sudan. Prior to this, he had served in various national and international administrative positions.
- During 2011-18, he was working as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission (UNECA) for Africa.
