IAS Officer- Dr. Ajay Kumar takes charge as Defence Secretary

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Dr. Ajay Kumar as Defence Secretary. He replaced Shri Sanjay Mitra, a 1982-batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre.
Dr. Kumar is a 1985-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre.
In another appointment, The Appointments Committee has also cleared the appointment of Shri Subhash Chandra, Special Secretary (Defence) as Secretary (Defence Production) in place of Dr. Kumar.
