- World Biofuel Day is being observed on 10th August every year worldwide to create awareness about the importance of non-fossil fuels as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels.
- The theme of the World Biofuel Day is 'Production of Bio-diesel from Used Cooking Oil'.
- Shri Dharmendra Pradhan- Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas & Steel has been organized World Biofuel Day at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
- On this occasion, FSSAI started an initiative 'Repurpose of Used Cooking Oil' with the help of the Health Ministry. In which the used oil will be collected from hotels and restaurants and sent to the biodiesel plants for blending.
